Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 12
Bright red-ruby. Reticent aromas of slightly diffuse dried fruits, iron and brown spices. More vibrant in the mouth, with red fruit flavors perked up by wild herbs, spices and a suggestion of violet. Finishes spicy and persistent, with good texture and length. Doesn't quite come alive today, though. (I'll withhold judgment on the Chambolle-Musigny Sentiers as my sample was a bit tired and dry.)

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
